Wilier Triestina · 1997

Easton Alpe d'Huez

After the incident at the Milano-Torino race that had endangered his career in 1997, the Pirate was determined to return to the top. All eyes were on him at the Giro d'Italia, but misfortune struck again, forcing him to retire. It was at the Tour de France that Pantani finally got his revenge. In the famous stage of Alpe d'Huez, seemingly tailored to his characteristics, the Pirate roared once again, forcefully. With his yellow Wilier adorned with touches of blue and red, Pantani climbed the slope with relentless determination, setting a time that would go down in cycling history, along with that bicycle. Iconic were its components: the Alpina hubs and spokes, the 3TTT stem, the TCS Evolution saddle with personalized decorations, a jewel of lightness and technology.
